Further accolade for region’s standing as academic centre of excellence
The city-region’s position as an academic centre of excellence has been further enhanced with another award for one of our universities. UWIC - the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff has been rated as the sixth most popular university in the UK in the City Life Category according to reviews submitted by its students on the ‘Whatuni.com’ site. Prince of Wales to honour UWIC students’ achievements (27 October 2008)

UK’s First Hydrogen Demonstration Centre Opens (8 October 2008)
The use of hydrogen as a renewable fuel source will come a step closer this week (9th October) with the opening of a pioneering hydrogen energy research and demonstration centre by the University of Glamorgan. Based at Baglan Energy Park near Swansea, the £2.2 million ‘Hydrogen Centre’ demonstrates the viability and safety of producing hydrogen from indigenous renewable resources in Wales. Find out more
